In the summer of 2011, Paul, Gio and Eduardo formed Gio Trio. The band’s unique style rests in its ability to stretch over a plethora of music genres including afro-cuban, cambia, jazz, boleros, Tex-Mex, reggaes, blues, flamenco, rhumba and Mexican folk. The lead vocals are shared by 3 different band members. Paul Hernandez plays the acoustic guitar and has over 20 years under his belt as a performer. Peto Heredondo on upright base reigns from Tijuana. And Giovani Mejia, a San Diego native, plucks the quarto acoustic and electric guitars. Eduardo Sabodan, a Peruvian board percussionist, adds a unique flavor to the band by incorporating the cajon sound to his set. Aldolfo Hernandez, a native of Sinaloa Mexico, sets the bar high with his keyboard and piano playing.
